Program Specific Outcomes

Vision statement “The Vision of Good Psychology is to empower communities with knowledge of mind-body relationships to eliminate unnecessary illnesses and improve quality of life.” The department of psychology focuses on student’s growth so that they can understand basic concepts of psychology and also use these concepts for their betterment. On completion of this course cum syllabus, students will be able to grasp basic understandings of the science and history of psychology, ethical issues in psychology, biological basis of behaviour, and basics concepts of general psychology (learning, memory, perception, thinking, emotion, motivation, intelligence etc.) and applied aspects of these basic concepts. Students will also be able to evolve basic understandings of definition and scope of psychology, history and researches in social psychology, social behavior as aggression, leadership, helping behavior, interpersonal behavior, social perception, social attitude and applications of social psychology in the different areas of health, environment etc They will also be able to understand basic understandings of meaning and criteria of abnormality, personal adjustment, and historical perspective of abnormality, classification system of DSM for abnormal behaviour, human adjustment and coping, conflicts, pressures & frustration, factors influencing stress tolerance and coping with stress by using different strategies, types of disorder, clinical picture and brief idea of etiology of disorder, systems of Psychology- different approaches and schools of psychology etc.

Course Specific Outcomes

  • To learn and correlate nervous system development at different stages of life with help of different theories.
  • To learn about history of psychopathology and dynamic aspect of mind, Dreams, Mental problems.
  • To understand verbal learning, sensory mooter learning, different case studies.
